Special Cleanliness Drive Conducted on CTU-2 Quarry Road Under Swachhata Pakhwada 2026
Jhakri, September : As part of “Swachhata Pakhwada 2026”, being organised by the Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station from September 17 to October 2, 2026, a special cleanliness drive was conducted on CTU-2 Quarry Road on Tuesday. The campaign was carried out under the guidance of Project Head Er. Rajiv Kapoor, with active participation from employees of the CSR Department of Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station and members of Mahila Mandal Jhakri.
During the cleanliness drive, extensive cleaning was undertaken around CTU-2 Quarry Road. Garbage and waste accumulated along the roadside and adjoining areas over a period of time were removed, making the area cleaner, more organised and environmentally pleasant. The initiative was aimed not only at improving cleanliness in the public area but also at creating greater awareness among officers, employees and members of the local community about the importance of cleanliness and strengthening the spirit of collective social responsibility.
Speaking on the occasion, Project Head Er. Rajiv Kapoor said that cleanliness is not the responsibility of any single department, institution or individual, but requires the active participation of every member of society. He said that the cleanliness drive at CTU-2 Quarry Road was aimed at keeping the area clean while also creating awareness among officers, employees and the local community about maintaining a clean environment. He further emphasised the importance of collective responsibility and community participation in building a cleaner and healthier environment.
The cleanliness campaign witnessed the active presence of Smt. Kaushalya Negi, Deputy General Manager (R&R/CSR) and Er. Ruman Devi, Assistant Manager, along with all employees of the CSR Department of NJHPS. They actively participated in the cleanliness activities themselves and encouraged the employees as well as members of Mahila Mandal Jhakri to contribute towards the campaign with enthusiasm and dedication.
As part of the initiative, jute bags were distributed among the members of Mahila Mandal Jhakri to encourage them to move towards eliminating the use of plastic bags. Personal hygiene-related materials were also provided on the occasion. Through this initiative, the organisers conveyed an important message regarding environmental protection, reduction in the use of plastic and the adoption of better personal hygiene practices.
The cleanliness drive organised by Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station emerged as an important initiative towards promoting cleanliness, environmental protection and community participation during Swachhata Pakhwada 2026. The active participation of employees and members of the local Mahila Mandal reflected the spirit of community cooperation and collective commitment towards maintaining a clean and healthy environment.
The initiative also highlighted the importance of involving local communities in cleanliness activities and encouraging people to adopt environmentally responsible practices in their daily lives. Such activities during Swachhata Pakhwada are expected to further strengthen awareness about cleanliness, responsible waste management, reduction in plastic use and personal hygiene, while fostering a sense of shared responsibility among employees and the local community.
