Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania Embarks on Study Visit to Three Countries After Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference
Will visit Italy, Finland and Norway; reaches Venice after two-day stay in Rome and proceeds to Milan
Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania has embarked on a study visit to three countries—Italy, Finland and Norway—following the conclusion of the 69th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference. As per his scheduled programme, the Assembly Speaker will visit various important locations during the study tour and interact with members of the Indian community, besides gaining an understanding of the historical, cultural and tourism-related significance of these countries.
As the first leg of his study visit, Kuldeep Singh Pathania reached Rome, the capital of Italy, last Saturday. After a two-day stay in Rome, the Assembly Speaker travelled by rail to Venice. Venice is an extraordinary and strategically significant city of Italy, renowned across the world for its picturesque canals, gondola rides and romantic ambience. The city is home to several famous landmarks, including the Rialto Bridge, St. Mark’s Basilica and the Doge’s Palace, which reflect its rich historical and architectural heritage.
Rome, the capital of Italy, is internationally known for its ancient history, magnificent architecture and rich cultural heritage. The Colosseum, along with several other historic buildings and monuments, stands as a prominent symbol of the city’s glorious past and architectural legacy. During his stay, the Assembly Speaker also had the opportunity to experience the historical and cultural significance of some of Italy’s prominent cities.
During his visit to Venice, Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania also interacted with members of the Indian community. On the occasion, he apprised members of the Indian community as well as local people about the immense tourism potential of Himachal Pradesh. He highlighted the state’s natural beauty, diverse tourist destinations and the wide range of opportunities available for tourism development in Himachal Pradesh.
The interaction also provided an opportunity to showcase Himachal Pradesh’s rich natural and cultural heritage to people living abroad. The Assembly Speaker emphasised the tourism potential of the state and its ability to attract visitors through its scenic landscapes, heritage and diverse tourism offerings.
Following his stay in Venice, Kuldeep Singh Pathania today proceeded by rail from Venice to Milan. As per the scheduled programme, he will remain in Milan on September 21 and 22. His study visit to the three countries will thereafter continue as per the scheduled itinerary, with Finland and Norway forming the next stages of the visit.
