Painting and Essay Writing Competitions Held at Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station Under “Swachhta Pakhwada 2026”
Jhakri, September 21, 2026: In accordance with the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Power, Government of India, and the SJVN Corporate Headquarters, Shimla, Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station (NJHPS) is observing “Swachhta Pakhwada 2026” from September 17 to October 2, 2026. As part of the campaign, painting and essay writing competitions were organized for students at Government Senior Secondary School (GSSS), Sanarsa, on September 21, 2026, under the guidance of Project Head, NJHPS, Er. Rajiv Kapoor.
A total of 108 students enthusiastically participated in the competitions. Through the painting and essay writing activities, students were provided an opportunity to express their creativity and thoughts on important themes such as cleanliness and environmental conservation. Through their paintings and essays, the students effectively highlighted the importance of maintaining a clean and healthy environment and the need to protect and preserve the environment.
Speaking on the occasion, Er. Rajiv Kapoor said that such programmes are organized to create awareness among students about cleanliness and environmental protection and to motivate them to make cleanliness an integral part of their daily lives. He emphasized the importance of encouraging young minds to adopt responsible habits and contribute towards creating a cleaner and healthier society.
Students who performed exceptionally well in the competitions were awarded prizes and felicitated for their outstanding efforts. The winners were also encouraged to continue participating actively in similar creative and awareness-based activities in the future.
On the occasion, Smt. Kaushalya Negi, Deputy General Manager (R&R/CSR), NJHPS, and Er. Joginder, Assistant Manager, along with all the teachers of the school, were present. They encouraged the students and appreciated their enthusiastic participation in the competitions.
The creative works presented by the students reflected their awareness, sensitivity and innovative thinking towards cleanliness and environmental conservation. The programme also served as an effective platform to reinforce the message that cleanliness and environmental responsibility should become an integral part of everyday life.
