Bhandara Held in Simsa to Mark Reconstruction of Kartik Swami Dev Sadan, Devotees from Five Villages Participate
Lahaul-Spiti, September : A traditional Bhandara was organised at Simsa village to mark the reconstruction of the old Dev Sadan of Lord Kartik Swami Ji. The religious programme was held with devotion and enthusiasm, bringing together devotees and residents from the surrounding villages. Former MLA and BJP State Working Committee Member Ravi Thakur participated in the programme, performed prayers and sought blessings for the peace, prosperity and well-being of the region. He also interacted with devotees and local residents during the event.
A large number of people from Simsa, Chhal, Sial, Siunsa and Gaderni, representing five villages, participated in the Bhandara. In the presence of priests, local representatives, prominent citizens and villagers, traditional prayers and rituals were performed in accordance with the established religious customs, followed by the Bhandara for the devotees.
Speaking on the occasion, Ravi Thakur said that the reconstruction of the Dev Sadan of Lord Kartik Swami Ji is an important initiative closely associated with the religious faith and rich Dev tradition of the area. He said that such religious and cultural programmes play an important role in preserving the region’s age-old traditions and cultural heritage and ensuring that these traditions continue to be passed on to future generations.
Ravi Thakur further said that the Dev tradition of Himachal Pradesh represents centuries-old faith, cultural values and social unity. Religious and cultural gatherings not only strengthen people’s connection with their traditions but also promote mutual respect, cooperation, unity and brotherhood among members of the community.
He also highlighted the special religious significance of Lord Kartik Swami Ji in Keylong, where the deity is also revered as ‘Keling Bazir’. He said that the deep faith of the local people in the deity reflects the rich spiritual and cultural heritage of the region.
The programme concluded with prayers for peace, prosperity, happiness and the overall well-being of the region and its people. The enthusiastic participation of villagers and devotees reflected their deep faith in Lord Kartik Swami Ji and their commitment to preserving the region’s traditional Dev culture and religious heritage.
