*Independence Day Celebrated with Enthusiasm at the Indian Institute of Advanced Study*
Shimla, 15 August 2025. The Indian Institute of Advanced Study (IIAS), Shimla, celebrated Independence Day today with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. The programme was held in the main lawn of the Institute under the chairmanship of the Institute’s Director, Prof. Himanshu Kumar Chaturvedi.
The event was attended in large numbers by the Institute’s Secretary, Mr. Mehar Chand Negi, officers and staff members, National Fellows, Fellows, Associates, and their family members.
During the programme, the Director hoisted the national flag and extended warm Independence Day greetings to all present. In his address, Prof. Chaturvedi paid homage to all the great freedom fighters of the country, stating, “It is because of their indomitable courage and supreme sacrifices that we are today free and proud citizens of an independent nation. We must remain committed to upholding their ideals and values.”
The atmosphere was filled with patriotic spirit as the National Anthem was sung collectively. Those present reaffirmed their resolve to work for the unity, integrity, and progress of the nation.
