Rampur HPS Organises ‘Swachh Food Street’ Programme at Talai and Badrash
Rampur, September : In accordance with the directions of the Ministry of Power and the Corporate Office, Rampur HPS is organising the Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) Campaign–2026 from September 17 to October 2, 2026. As part of the campaign, various activities are being undertaken to promote cleanliness, hygiene and public participation, while creating greater awareness about the importance of maintaining a clean and healthy environment.
As part of this initiative, a ‘Swachh Food Street’ programme was organised on September 23, 2026, under the guidance of Er. Vikas Marwah, Project Head, Rampur HPS, for local street food vendors operating along NH-05 at Talai and Badrash.
The programme focused on creating awareness among local street food vendors about the importance of cleanliness, hygienic food practices, personal hygiene and maintaining cleanliness in and around food vending areas. The initiative also aimed at encouraging vendors and the general public to adopt responsible waste management practices and contribute towards creating a cleaner and healthier food environment.
During the programme, local street food vendors were provided with cleanliness kits and essential sanitation materials to support hygienic practices at their respective food vending locations. Water campers were also provided to ensure access to clean drinking water. In addition, separate dustbins for segregation of dry and wet waste were made available to facilitate proper waste collection, segregation and disposal.
The ‘Swachh Food Street’ initiative was aimed at increasing awareness among local street food vendors as well as the general public regarding cleanliness, hygienic food, personal hygiene, cleanliness of the surrounding areas and proper waste disposal. The programme further sought to encourage responsible practices that can help create a clean, safe and healthy environment for both food vendors and consumers.
Speaking on the occasion, Er. Vikas Marwah, Project Head, Rampur HPS, appealed to local street food vendors and members of the public to ensure proper segregation of dry and wet waste and to dispose of waste responsibly. He also urged everyone to actively contribute towards keeping their surroundings clean and plastic-free.
Er. Vikas Marwah emphasised that cleanliness is not the responsibility of any single individual or organisation, but requires collective efforts and active participation from the community. He said that sustained public participation and collective action can bring about a lasting and visible transformation in the field of cleanliness.
The ‘Swachh Food Street’ programme organised at Talai and Badrash reflects Rampur HPS’s continued efforts under the Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign–2026 to promote cleanliness, hygiene, responsible waste management and public awareness at the grassroots level. The initiative also underlines the importance of collaborative efforts in creating cleaner, healthier and more sustainable public spaces.
