Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania Reaches Finland from Italy
Continues Study Visit after Milan; to Undertake Comparative Study in Helsinki and Rovaniemi
Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania, continuing his study visit, arrived in Helsinki, the capital of Finland, by air from the renowned Italian city of Milan late last night. Pathania was on a study visit to Milan from September 21 to 25. Milan is globally renowned for its fashion, beauty, history and economic significance and is also known as the fashion and design capital of the world.
During his three-day visit to Milan, Pathania visited several important sites, educational institutions and industrial areas. He undertook a comparative study of the systems and developments there in the context of India and Himachal Pradesh. The visit provided him an opportunity to closely understand the functioning, development models and institutional practices being followed in different sectors.
Sharing his experience of Milan, Pathania said that Milan is more beautiful than dreams. He said that the city has been shaped and developed through the extraordinary contribution of its architects and craftsmen. He also appreciated the unique blend of historical heritage, architectural excellence and modern development visible across the city.
During his study visit, Pathania also interacted with members of the Indian community as well as local people. While interacting with members of the Indian community, he said that India is their motherland and urged them to invest the money earned abroad in their own country. Such investments, he said, could further strengthen the Indian economy and create greater employment opportunities for local people.
Pathania said that India is the country with the largest youth population in the world. He emphasized that the immense strength of the country's young population should be utilised constructively for building a prosperous nation. He said that India aims to harness its youth power for nation-building so that the country can emerge as a stronger global economic power.
Pathania will remain on a study visit to Helsinki, the capital of Finland, from September 23 to 24. From Helsinki, he is scheduled to travel to Rovaniemi, the famous city regarded as the capital of Finland's Lapland region. Rovaniemi is also considered the official hometown of Santa Claus.
Located close to the Arctic Circle, Rovaniemi is renowned across the world for its natural beauty, northern lights and magical atmosphere. Pathania will undertake his study visit to Rovaniemi on September 25 and 26, where he will study the local systems, development activities and various aspects of the region as part of his ongoing international study programme.
