‘One Day, One Hour, Together’ Cleanliness Drive Launched at Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station
CISF Personnel, Officers, Employees and Contract Workers Join Hands in Collective Shramdaan to Promote Cleanliness and Environmental Protection
Jhakri, October: As part of the Swachhta Hi Seva Pakhwada-2026, a special cleanliness and environmental awareness campaign was organised at Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station (NJHPS) with the objective of strengthening public participation and promoting a clean and green environment. As part of the Swachhta Hi Seva Pakhwada, being observed from 17 September 2026 to 02 October 2026, the special “One Day, One Hour, Together” cleanliness drive and collective shramdaan was launched on 01 October 2026 in the gracious presence of Project Head Er. Rajiv Kapoor, in joint collaboration with the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Unit.
The campaign witnessed enthusiastic participation from Project Head Er. Rajiv Kapoor, Heads of Departments, officers and employees of NJHPS, personnel of the CISF Unit, as well as contract workers. All participants came together with a strong sense of responsibility and actively contributed to the cleanliness drive, conveying a collective message of commitment towards cleanliness and environmental conservation.
During the campaign, cleanliness activities were carried out from the vicinity of the Main Check Post up to NH5 Rehri Market. The participants undertook collective shramdaan and cleaned the area while simultaneously spreading awareness about the importance of maintaining cleanliness and preserving a clean and green environment.
The initiative highlighted the fact that cleanliness is not the responsibility of any single department, institution or individual. Rather, it requires the active participation and collective efforts of every citizen, employee and stakeholder. The enthusiastic participation of officers, employees, CISF personnel and contract workers reflected a strong spirit of community involvement and shared responsibility towards maintaining a hygienic and environmentally sustainable surroundings.
The campaign also underlined the importance of making cleanliness a continuous practice rather than limiting it to special occasions or designated cleanliness drives. Through collective efforts and active participation, the participants conveyed the message that even small individual contributions can play an important role in creating a cleaner, healthier and greener environment.
As part of the same initiative, the CSR Department, NJHPS, has also installed signboards at all the adopted CTUs during the Swachhta Hi Seva Pakhwada-2026. These signboards have been installed with the objective of spreading messages related to cleanliness and awareness in the respective areas and encouraging people to remain conscious of their responsibility towards maintaining clean surroundings.
Speaking on the occasion, Project Head Er. Rajiv Kapoor expressed his gratitude to the CISF personnel, officers, employees and local people who participated in the cleanliness campaign. He urged everyone to make cleanliness an integral part of their daily lifestyle rather than restricting it to a single day or a special campaign.
He appealed to everyone to keep their surroundings clean, dispose of waste only at designated places and actively contribute towards creating a clean and green environment. He also emphasised that sustained cleanliness can only be achieved when every individual adopts cleanliness as a regular habit and contributes towards maintaining the environment.
The collective shramdaan undertaken under the “One Day, One Hour, Together” initiative reinforced the spirit of participation, responsibility and awareness towards cleanliness at NJHPS and its surrounding areas. The active involvement of officers, employees, CISF personnel and contract workers demonstrated the importance of collective action in achieving the broader objectives of the Swachhta Hi Seva Pakhwada-2026.
The initiative served as a meaningful reminder that cleanliness is a shared responsibility and that sustained public participation can make a significant contribution towards building a cleaner, greener and healthier environment.
