Special Swachh Bharat Campaign Organised at Kamna Mata Temple on the Eve of Gandhi Jayanti
Shimla: On the eve of Gandhi Jayanti and the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri Ji, the Yuva Bharat Sanstha organised a special Swachh Bharat Abhiyan at the Kamna Mata Temple premises in Baluganj. The campaign was aimed at promoting cleanliness and creating greater awareness among people about the importance of maintaining a clean and healthy environment.
Giving this information, Sunil Thakur, President of Yuva Bharat Sanstha, said that the organisation has been continuously undertaking various social and public welfare initiatives. These include environment protection campaigns, de-addiction awareness campaigns, health awareness programmes, blood donation camps and several other activities aimed at creating awareness and encouraging public participation in social causes.
Sunil Thakur said that since 2014, a special cleanliness campaign has been organised across the country on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti under the Swachh Bharat Mission. He said that the campaign has played an important role in making the country and the state open-defecation free and in strengthening awareness about cleanliness and sanitation among the people.
He further said that various steps taken in Himachal Pradesh, including the ban on plastic, are helping make the state cleaner while also contributing towards protecting public health and the environment. A clean environment, he said, is essential for building a healthy society, and every citizen has an important role to play in achieving this objective.
The Yuva Bharat Sanstha President appealed to socially conscious citizens as well as the government to work collectively towards making society pollution-free. He emphasised that cleanliness cannot be achieved through government efforts alone and requires active participation from every section of society.
Sunil Thakur said that every individual and every household is an integral part of the Swachh Bharat Mission. If citizens take responsibility for maintaining cleanliness in their homes, neighbourhoods and public places, it can contribute significantly towards building a cleaner, healthier and more environmentally responsible society.
The special cleanliness campaign at Kamna Mata Temple was also an effort to reinforce the message that cleanliness is not merely a one-day activity but a collective responsibility that should become a regular part of everyday life.
