Chandigarh - On the occasion of Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar's birth anniversary, Haryana Cooperation Minister Dr. Banwari Lal has requested all people to stay in their homes due to the COVID-19 pandemic and to celebrate the same while maintaining social distancing so that the State can be free of this disease. He said that under the "Ek Diya Baba Saheb ke Saath" program on April 14, 2020, everyone should light a lamp or 'candle' on the roofs of their homes at 8 pm and to do it by maintaining social distancing to commemorate his work.
Dr. Banwari Lal said that Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar has made significant contribution in nation building through his work in social, economic, political, educational, religious, historical, cultural, literary, industrial, constitutional areas which the country still remembers.
Talking about the social and religious contribution of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, he said that Baba Saheb worked for the eradication of social evils such as casteism. Dr. Banwari Lal appealed to the people of the state to keep themselves and their families safe from COVID-19 and remain alert to keep the society safe.
He said that one should maintain social distancing to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
