Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Mr. Dushyant Chautala, Who Also Holds The Portfolio Of The Industries And Commerce, Labour And Employment Departments, Has Directed All The District Labour Commissioners And Deputy Directors ....

 

  • Chandigarh-Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Mr. Dushyant Chautala, who also holds the portfolio of the Industries and Commerce, Labour and Employment departments, has directed all the District Labour Commissioners and Deputy Directors of the department to ensure to send the list of labourers  of the respective jurisdictions, who are removed from their industries during the nationwide lockdown, who are left without pay and daily wages, workers not getting dry ration, and workers in the shelter homes to the headquarters within 72 hours.
  • The Deputy Chief Minister was presiding over a review meeting regarding the condition of workers in the state during the lockdown period for COVID-19 pandemic with field officers through video conferencing today.
  • During the meeting, the Deputy Chief Minister also directed the officers to personally visit the brick kiln, crusher zones, construction sites and densely populated cities of Panipat, Gurugram, and Faridabad in order to review the ground-level situation of the workers residing there and ensure sending video clippings along with photos to the headquarters.
  • Mr. Dushyant Chautala informed that as per the directions issued by the Central Government and the State Government, no industry or employer can forcibly remove any workers from their organizations during the lockdown period and if they do so then strict action will be taken against them as per rules. He also said that during this period, the industries and employers must make arrangements of food and accommodation for their workers at their own level or in collaboration with District Administration, Red Cross and social organizations. He also informed that during this period, the government has appointed senior officers of the Indian Administrative Service as the nodal officers of each district to review the situation and to make necessary arrangements through District Deputy Commissioners, District Labour Commissioners can contact them.
  • Mr. Dushyant Chautala directed the officers to ensure that the factories manufacturing essential commodities are operational in their respective areas. He said that the officers should also ensure that no entrepreneurs, especially small, micro and medium-scale entrepreneurs, should send their workers on leave forcibly as a large number of workers hailing from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan and North-Eastern states of the country are employed in industries in the National Capital Region and Haryana. He said that private security has also been placed under the Essential Commodities Act to protect industries during the lockdown. The concerned District Superintendent of Police will be appraised of the latest developments to take necessary action.
  •         Mr. Dushyant Chautala also informed that the directions have been given to all the District Food Controller Officers that they should ensure to paste the price list of daily essential commodities, grocery and vegetable fixed by the State Government at the shops of wholesale and retail traders so that the shopkeeper does not charge more. He said that if shopkeepers charge extra then strict action will be taken against them under the Epidemic Act. He also informed that under the public distribution system, the ration quota for the month of April to be distributed by April 5 and the quota to be distributed in the month of May will also reach the depot holder   before April 15.
  • Principal Secretary, Labour Department, Mr. Vineet Garg,   State Labour Commissioner, Mr. Pankaj Aggarwal and other senior officers of the Department were also present.
