Himachal Government regularly monitoring present COVID-19 situation - Dhani Ram Shandil
The Union Health Minister of India Dr. Mansukh L. Mandaviya along with Health Minister of State Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar today held a review meeting in virtual mode with the Health Ministers of all the States on COVID-19 situation and preparedness. The Health Minister of Himachal Pradesh Dr.(Col) Dhani Ram Shandil along with the officials of Health Department and National Health Mission participated in the said meeting.
Dr.(Col) Dhani Ram Shandil apprised the Government of India about the current COVID-19 situation in the State. He said that the State Government was regularly monitoring the present COVID-19 situation properly and there was no need to panic as the things were under control as well as sufficient resources were available with the State Government but still people need to remain vigilant and had been advised to follow COVID Appropriate Behaviour.
Dr.(Col) Dhani Ram Shandil said that at present the active cases in the State were 1933 whereas the current one week Positivity Rate was 6.6. He said that daily COVID-19 testing was around 5000 and the current hospital admission rate was 0.9 percent.
He specially highlighted daily COVID-19 testing in Himachal Pradesh was around 5000 per day and the average testing rate as per population was higher throughout the country. He said that at present the state has sufficient beds availability besides sufficient supply of oxygen along with adequate number of ventilators available in Healthcare facilities throughout the State which can cater future needs in any exigency.
Regarding availability of COVID-19 vaccine in the state, the Health Minister of Himachal Pradesh requested the Government of India regarding supply of COVID-19 vaccine to the State so that the precautionary dose shall be administered to the public.
The State of Himachal Pradesh will ensure that COVID-19 coordination and review meetings at State and district level will be conducted on a regular basis as per the directions given by the Union Health Minister, said Dr.(Col) Dhani Ram Shandil.
